I used to have trust issues so I barely let anyone in. Then I realized who am I to shut people out like some kind of royalty. But then I opened up too much to the point of accepting people and result in bad outcomes. Now I'm learning the important thing is to balance and it is not so much of an open heart but an open mind. Then slowly open your heart to people who will not choose to break it on purpose. I talk openly a lot but I learn not to say too much now that I no longer keep to the “special few”. Sadly I am extremely perceptive in certain ways and less perceptive in other ways, but I am learning. Being sensitive to people's character is only useful for long term relationships, but nowadays and actually in the grown up world we need to make snappy decisions and nothing last forever.
