Per minuteMy name is Oliver, a compassionate person who is always looking for ways to help others. I have always been drawn to people who are struggling, whether it be with emotional, or physical challenges. This innate desire to help has led me to pursue a career in sociology, communications, and now international relations. Following the completion of my bachelor's degree in sociology, I worked as a field coordinator for my country’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) which provided services to individuals who had terrible experiences during the years of civil war. In this role, I developed strong relationships with my victims and witnesses of the conflicts and felt a deep sense of fulfilment in helping them access the resources they needed to improve their lives. Currently, I am employed as a Risk Communication and Community Engagement Professional providing support to people at risk during and after public health threats. I believe strongly that access to information is a right, and everyone must be granted such access. My compassion is not just a personal value, but it is also the foundation of my professional career.
