Per minuteAmandine, a native of Rwanda, is a versatile individual who excels as an educator, writer, multimedia artist, and critic. She actively contributes to The Kigalian and is currently engrossed in crafting her debut manuscript—a compilation of afrofuturistic short stories that explore a range of philosophical and existential inquiries. Through her creative work, Amandine delves into the intricate relationship between trauma and memory, particularly focusing on the dynamics of recollection and the imaginative possibilities of a future for the black community. Driven by a strong belief in cross-cultural learning, collective healing, and the transformative power of the arts in education, Amandine established Creative Healing. Creative Healing equips Rwandan educators and caregivers with the pedagogy they need to encourage children to express their emotions confidently, allowing for healing across generations. She believes those skills can be developed through the utilization of creative writing, public speaking, visual art, music, nature, and movement.
