I'm one of those guys who's into everything: First and foremost, I'm a dad. I'm also a photographer; cyclist; a writer (I'm writing a book but more for fun than hoping for a best seller); own a fitness studio in Kenya; started a cleaning business in Washington, DC; a military brat who spent several years living in Germany; used to go a lot of gardening until we moved into a townhome without a yard; avid book reader (mostly non-fiction brainy stuff but also the occasional sci-fi or best seller novel). I was Director of Recruitment for many years at a startup IT company based in Reston, VA; worked retail management for many years after college; and am a serial business starter. My mother passed away several years ago so I know that pain (it never stops); my dad has beaten cancer but that battle is perpetual; my brother is a military vet who served in the Iraq War (my dad served in the original Persian Gulf War). I'm prefer to not have discussions about politics, religion or race (too touchy) but can talk for hours about the NFL, space travel (SpaceX fan here), CRISPR (genetic editing in general), history (mostly the ancient stuff), philosophy, parenting (my favorite), and really anything else. My family and I travel a lot, making visits at places such as Kenya, Morocco, Peru, Mexico, Turkey, Romania, Germany, India, all over the United States, and probably a few other short trips I'm forgetting.
