I'm a retired home health care RN. As someone whose job was working with people who had physical or mental limitations which kept them from being able to seek medical care outside the home, being a really good listener was extremely important to do my job effectively. Many times I heard people say to me, you're a really good listener." Sometimes that's all they wanted was for someone to listen.
