I am a married, 57 year old mother and caregiver of an ailing parent. I have been forced to grow so much over the last decade and have had to do so mostly alone. I went from being a wife and mother of an only daughter, a salon manager and home owner, to my only child leaving our family and me and my husband having move in with my parents so I could care for my mother whom passed from Alzheimer's in 2019. Oh, the cherry on top of this F'ed up sundae is my husband and I have both had cancer diagnosis during this time. I have had to navigate so much change. My friends look up to me and tell me I should have been a therapist. I think my experience might offer a perspective to someone that they might not be able to see through their pain. My super power is gently telling you the truth. I have found that acceptable is the closest road to peace.
